Remuera Library

Work completed Jan 2025 with Argon construction

Remuera Library is a notable landmark on a prominent corner in central Auckland. The Neo-Georgian building was built in 1926 and is a Heritage New Zealand Category 1 listed building.

The building had been identified as earthquake-prone, with a seismic score of 15% New Building Standard (NBS). This project strengthened the building to 67% NBS.

The renewal programme enables essential repairs, maintenance, and enhancement works to take place. This includes fire safety enhancements, emergency lighting upgrades, accessibility enhancements, seismic strengthening and an interior cosmetic refresh to the library including paintwork and recarpeting.
